The purpose of this FAQ is to provide answers to questions that are often asked regarding the community. If you have a question that isn’t addressed here, please scroll to the bottom where there is a form for you to submit your question.
Which is it, HOA or POA?
The Texas property codes does not actually refer to either “HOA” or “POA”. However, the specific chapter (Ch 209) of the “Texas Residential Property Owners Protection Act” has the words “Property Owners” in it, and there are many paragraphs and phrases where “property owner” is used, so “POA” may be the more appropriate term. Regardless, either term is acceptable.
How can I participate in the POA?
The Waverly Acres POA is always interested in discussing the needs of the community and where volunteers may help. One of the primary areas where assistance is most welcome is in watering the runway during the hot summer months. There are also several committees within the POA that would welcome volunteer help. Please contact the POA for more information.
Is there fuel on site?
No, there is no fuel on site. The two closest airports with fuel are Huntsville [KUTS] (14.8nm) (non-towered) and Conroe-North Houston Regional [KCXO] (11.1nm) (towered).
Is it okay if I come visit and land at your airfield?
Well, understand that this is a private airfield. While we are a welcoming bunch, prior permission and a liability waiver before landing are a POA requirement. Most of the outside pilots know someone here and that makes it easy for them to get the permission and waiver. If you still want to land here, it can likely be arranged… just contact the airfield manager for more information.
Can I get a copy of the deed restrictions for the community?
Validated Waverly Acres homeowners all have easy access to the deed restrictions via this website. However, if you are not a validated property owner, then access is not provided. That isn’t to say the deed restrictions are unavailable, but they simply would not be available via this website to a non-owner. If a non-owner is interested in getting a copy, they should contact the current property owner.
